Yesterday I went to a few fashion shows, my favorite was Issey Miyake’s Fall-Winter 2011-12, the show took place at the flagship store in Paris (5e place des Vosges). A beautiful high-ceiling space, with natural light reflected by white walls.
Like every Japanese people, Dai Fujiwara tries to define a fine balance between tradition and modernism, on a creation point of view, a mix between handcrafting and new textile technology.
The idea of this fashion show was a young guy who writes about his trip to a city, lost in his thoughts. All the audience was hearing the voice-over narrator, he was thinking of problems caused by cultural differences and how to express his feelings for a girl…
