Swiss Manufacture from ‘Le Brassus’ in the Vallée de Joux, Audemars Piguet celebrates the iconic Royal Oak 40th Anniversary in Paris. ‘Royal Oak 40 Years : From Avant-Garde to Icon’ exhibition held in Paris from June 6th to June 10th 2012 at the Palais de Tokyo (13 Avenue du Président Wilson  75116 Paris).

On view through over 100 timepieces are on display in the exhibit, from the very first Royal Oak made in 1972 to the latest models unveiled at the ‘Salon International de la Haute Horlogerie’, Geneva (Switzerland) in January 2012.

I had the great pleasure of listening two watchmakers talk about their passion. Demonstration of the calibre being assembled by a watchmaker was impressive in its precision. I understood with some difficulties, the operation of the ‘guilloche’ in haute horlogerie. And the love of this craftsman to his beautiful old machine from 1918 was touching.

Congratulations to the craftsmen of Audemars Piguet for those 40 years of work !
